On March,11th and 12th the Department of Information Engineering and Computer Science held an annual event known as ICT Days which brought together the representatives of 27 local and international companies and over 900 University students and school graduates. It was an excellent chance for the students to engage with employment opportunities and the courses of study offered by DISI. ICT Days brought positive benefits both for the companies and students who are making their first steps on the career ladder.
"The requests our department receives for ICT specialists exceed the number of graduates we have. Thus our students are able to find job shortly after they graduate" ( Franceso De Natale, the head of the DISI department)

A series of seminars on technology transfer and related tools like patents and spin off's set up.
The initiative is open to students, researchers and enterprises interested in taking research ideas to market and society.
Seminars will be given by professionals from Academia and Enterprises.
We are pleased to announce that the paper entitled "TASM: Top-k Approximate Subtree Matching" co-authored by Themis Palpanas (DISI), as well as Nikolaus Augsten (Free University of Bolzano), Denilson Barbosa (University of Alberta), and Mike Boehlen (Free University of Bolzano), received the Best Paper Award at the IEEE ICDE 2010 - IEEE International Conference on Data Engineering, held March 1-6, 2010, in Long Beach, California, USA.
ICDE is one of the top three international conferences on Databases. This year it had 560 submissions and an acceptance rate of 12.5%.
The workshop aims to bring together researchers working on Speech, Interactive Questions Answering and Dialogue Models in Trentino-Alto Adige.
