Positions open!
- I am always looking for motivated students!
The 2010 call for Ph.D. students at the University of Trento will appear soon here. If you want to pursue a Ph.D. in my group you need to apply by specifying your interest in the Research Program Distributed Systems.
If you intend to apply, please drop me an e-mail before applying. Pre-doctoral internships are also available in my group: again, if interested, drop me an e-mail.
Research keywords: wireless sensor networks, large-scale peer-to-peer computing, middleware, mobile computing, publish-subscribe, content-based routing, tuple spaces.
My past and current Ph.D. students
- Paolo Costa: Ph.D. 2006, now a postdoc at Microsoft Research in Cambridge, UK
- Davide Frey (co-advised with Amy Murphy): Ph.D. 2006, now a postdoc at INRIA (Rennes, France) in Anne-Marie Kermarrec's group
- Matteo Migliavacca (after 2006 co-advised with G. Cugola): Ph.D. 2008, now a postdoc at Imperial College London, UK
- Luca Mottola: Ph.D. 2008, now a postdoc at SICS (Stockholm, Sweden) in Thiemo Voigt's group.
At the 6th European Conference on Wireless Sensor Networks (EWSN 2009), Luca's Ph.D. thesis "Programming Wireless Sensor Networks: From Physical to Logical Neighborhoods" was awarded the EWSN/CONET Best Ph.D. Thesis Award. Read more here.
- Stefan Guna: started in 2007, detecting global properties in WSNs
- Giuliano Mega: started in 2008, decentralized network architectures for online social networks
